Carburator Tuning:
When tuning an engine, we usually start by jetting the carb for the proper air/fuel ratio. There's an old saying in engine tuning that you can be too rich a bunch of times, but only too lean once.
Ignition Timing:
While some engine tuners consider ignition timing to be a separate function from the air/fuel ratio of the engine, in reality the two must be considered together. If more fuel is added, the spark will likely need to ignite the mixture sooner to burn the fuel efficiently. Also, the amount of advance and when it comes in are both important considerations.
While there's no perfect recipe of fuel, air, ignition, and camshaft timing that works for every engine, the chassis dyno makes tuning an efficient operation that can be accomplished in a controlled and safe environment.
Tuning Experience:
As the primary technician and owner of Collingdale Performance I have been drag racing for over 25 years with many different cars from supercharged and naturally aspirated engines to nitrous fed motors. Collingdale Performance was established in 1994.I have 10 years in the Us Army as a combat engineer,and have been to many seminars, also HP tuners trainning. I have solved many problems with high end exotic to full race cars. The shop has experience with nearly all aftermarket tuning systems .We have the technical and real life experience to tune your vehicle! We specialize in all aspects of performance from fabrication installations to tuning on imports and domestic.                                All tuning is done for off road purposes.

Collingdale Perfromance has installed many supercharger and turbo kits from imports to domestic cars and trucks.
        
The dyno we use is an MD 250 Eddy Current Power Absorption unit (PAU) with air-cooled, frictionless operation, infinitely variable loading and capable of dynoing 1250 hp at 175 mph. The MD250 can handle up to 12.000lbs of axle weight ! This produces true life results which can be duplicated on the track. Don't be fooled by some Dynos which don't give results which match your track runs.We can also dyno your car or truck on either direction on the dyno.

The Boost Cooler® is Snow Performance’s latest generation water/methanol injection system. The primary function of water/methanol injection is to provide “chemical intercooling”. 

  In gasoline engines, as with any intercooler, this suppresses detonation so more power producing boost and timing can be utilized. Water, with its high latent heat of vaporization cools the intake charge and combustion. Methanol cools the charge and combustion but also acts like an extremely high octane fuel (some researchers claim as high as 120 octane) as well as adding more oxygen to combustion.

What is a Chassis Dyno, and what makes Mustang Dynos so special?

The term dynamometer is commonly defined as – “an instrument for measuring mechanical force”, with force being commonly defined as – “any external agent that causes a change in the motion of a free body, or that causes stress in a fixed body”. In the case of the chassis dyno, the purpose at hand is to measure the rotational force of the driven wheels mounted to the vehicle under test.   This is typically achieved via a series of rollers - which when coupled to a vehicle’s tires resembles a toothless gear arrangement.  In many cases, an absorption device is incorporated into the roller arrangement so as to allow for “steady state” testing.
It's true that any chassis dyno can spin your wheels and do some calculations, but only a Mustang Dyno can give you a real world simulation every time. The patented control system uses eddy current power absorbers to load a vehicle exactly the way it would be loaded on the street -- including wind resistance, which is a significant factor in high-speed testing. Mustang dynos also feature a load cell to measure the power being applied to the rolls. Without going into a lot of theory, a Mustang dyno gives you a real world tune, every time.

Dyno Testing and tuning is available on our Mustang MD250-HD Dyno. The Mustang dyno incorporates an eddy current load controller to simulate the actual load (combined aerodynamic, rolling friction, and vehicle inertia [weight]) the vehicle experiences while driving on the street or racetrack. This allows for more accurate tuning under conditions that match the real world. These conditions can not be simulated by an inertia-only dyno !
 
Horsepower and torque gains and driveability improvements can be made on a chassis dyno by tuning fuel pressure, ignition timing, and other  parameters of the engine computer, or by a custom computer chip or by flash tuners such as a Diablo,SCT,Superchips,HP tuners, and other hand held tuners.Below are just some of the tuning software we use.

What is a chassis dyno, and what happens when you arrive?
In a few brief words I will explain:

First of all, a chassis dyno is a tuning tool. Any dyno can give you Horsepower and Torque numbers to brag about. Before you bring your car over for a dyno:

You should make sure all your fluids, belts, hoses, lug nuts, tire pressures, check for any leaks and the entire drivetrain is good running condition. First I will inspect your car and check to see if it is safe to be run on my dyno. But if I feel that it is not safe, I may reject it, to run it on the dyno. Safety comes first here!
Then you will sign a printed waiver release form. (If you refuse to sign the waiver release form I will refuse to dyno test your vehicle.) Because there are risks! The same risks as you would be driving or racing your vehicle on the street everytime you hold your gas pedal to the floor and the tachometer will either hit the redline or pass the redline! Because something might just break on your vehicle. Just because it breaks on the dyno it doesn't mean that the dyno broke your vehicle! The same thing would happen if you were racing or driving your car on the street or the  track.   No Refunds on Dyno tuning.
All vehicles must be in good  running condition  to be tuned.Because tuning requires multiple wide open throttle pulls.

All dyno tests are done at 1:1 ratio on most cars but lighter cars have a final gear ratio higher and done at a different gear. With an Eddy Current Mustang Dyno we can test your vehicle at any speed. After the dyno is done, you will get several color print outs of Afr-Tq-Hp before and after.The MD 250 dyno is an in ground dyno with dual grooved rollers for optimum traction and can handle up to 12.000 lbs of axle weight! 1250hp and 175mph.We can dyno a UPS delivery truck, at any direction facing on the dyno.
